A Tribute to Louis Féraud...

Most of you were told about Louis Féraud as a Couturier, Designer, Craftsman and Author, but did you know that he was also a one-of-a-kind talented Painter ?

Far from the diktats of fashion and Haute Couture - even though he was such a reknown figure in this field of activity - Louis only painted according to his heart and soul, "for art's sake". Passionately fond of colors and pure gold, he used to paint stylized, refined, ingenuous "child-women" looking like angels, whose profound blue gaze would make you feel living in some utopia. Often in the nude - and yet looking like so candid - they would almost turn into mystical figures !

Louis Féraud's artistic universe is also impregnated with a sense of perpetual spring and summer which adds to the poetry of his art, like an invitation to dream endlessly. As a matter of fact, the sun is omnipresent in his work, even at night, and fragile flowers - so fragile that it seems they were made of silk or muslin - seem to ask us this very question : without colors and dreams, is life worth living ?

Born in Arles on February 13th, 1920, Louis Féraud died on December 28th, 1999. Whether you believe in signs or not, this day is the "Saint Innocent Day" in France, and I guess this was the right time for him to go and meet the angels he was so fascinated by...

Twelve years ago, I had the great opportunity to work for him and his daughter Kiki, which was a one-life-unforgettable experience, but since he left our world, I could find no information on Louis's paintings on the web. That is the reason why, in my way, I wanted to pay a tribute to the great artist and man he was, so that nobody ever forget him.

Now it's up to you to discover, appreciate and promote...
