The story behind
In this painting, a turquoise-winged bird takes flight against a fiery backdrop, tracing in the air a luminous arc like a promise. Its form unfolds in striking contrast: the incandescent red of the earthly realm unites with the gold and blue of regained freedom. The soaring figure recalls the legend of Alcyon, daughter of the gods transformed into a bird, to whom was granted the gift of calming the waves so she might nest upon the sea. Each brushstroke seems to carry that miracle: a divine breath that quiets the storms, offering refuge amidst trials. The pictorial gesture, wide and circular, expresses the power of rebirth, when the soul at last takes flight toward the light. Here, flight becomes both deliverance and prayer, a hymn rising to the Creator. In this turquoise circle that opens like a halo, one perceives a passage toward deep peace.
