Axial Seamount

The title of my painting "Axial Seamount" evokes a scene filled with mystery and grandeur, where a mountain awakens in the soft glow of dawn… But could it also be a spiritual metaphor? This "axial" mountain appears to be a central point, a convergence or connection between sky and earth, between the physical world and a more subtle dimension.

The composition is structured around an upward movement, with vertical lines guiding the gaze toward the mountain’s summit. This ascending dynamic reinforces the idea of an awakening, a rise toward light or a higher energy.

There is a striking contrast between the imposing yet immobile mountain - exuding a sense of stability and permanence - and the lighter, ever-moving elements that surround it. This interplay adds both visual and symbolic depth to the composition.
