The story behind
In this painting, a blazing figure emerges at the heart of a blue horizon, between sea and sky, suspended in an invisible passage. Reds, golds, and oranges swirl in fiery curves, while the tranquil turquoise embraces the movement, creating a frame of ambiguity. When the canvas is divided, a face reveals itself: that of Hermes, messenger of the gods, elusive and dual. Bearer of journeys and new beginnings, he may also become psychopomp, guiding souls into the Underworld. The staff of Mercury, suggested by the vertical stroke, becomes a symbol of duality: light and shadow, fortune and loss, opening and peril. Each color, each flowing gesture, seems to remind us that nothing is univocal, that the world is woven from inseparable opposites. Here, the painting becomes a parable: truth unveils itself by concealing, and balance is attained only by embracing ambivalence.
