The story behind

In this painting, the dream is no longer merely a space in which to surrender: it becomes a force seeking a way through. The composition seems suspended between two worlds. On the left, light, white, green and turquoise open into an almost weightless space. On the right, deep blues and violets introduce something denser, darker and more mysterious. Between them rises a powerful red vertical presence, vibrant and almost incandescent: a column of life connecting what lies buried within us to what longs to rise. Yet at the centre, everything shifts. Forms converge into an area of tension where curves, lines and matter seem to collide before bursting outward in different directions. Long turquoise projections shoot towards the right like shards, branches or suddenly liberated trajectories. On the left, broad curved forms appear instead to gather the movement, suggesting wings, sails or strange petals opening towards the invisible. This painting is therefore animated by an essential contradiction: to surrender to the current, yet choose one’s direction. Perhaps this, too, is what it means to dream. Not to escape reality, but to create within ourselves a space where paths that do not yet exist become possible. Dreams sometimes precede movement. They sense before they know. They sketch within the invisible what life may later attempt to bring into being. The rippling passages running through parts of the painting intensify this sensation. They resemble interference within reality itself, as though the dream were disturbing its surface and temporarily dissolving the boundaries between the tangible and the intangible. Forms double, vibrate and distort: the familiar world ceases to be a certainty. And it is precisely through that opening that something new may emerge. Red brings pulse, desire, perhaps even courage. Turquoise opens the space. Green carries a promise of renewal. The deep blues and violets preserve the mystery without which dreams could not exist: that region within ourselves we may never fully understand, yet from which some of our most essential impulses arise. This painting may therefore evoke the moment when intuition becomes a calling. Resistance remains. There are still shadows and conflicting directions. Yet something has begun to move and, once that opening has appeared, we can never quite return to the world as it was before. For some dreams are not meant to put us to sleep. They are meant to awaken us...
