Aquatic Spell (2)

In this painting, forms burst into dazzling sprays, as if swept into an ascending spiral. The ocean seems to rise beyond itself, breaking the limits of the horizon to open toward the sky. The vertigo comes from this tension: fall or ascent, shipwreck or deliverance? The colors clash and mingle in a vibrant explosion, giving water the lightness of fire. Here, the aquatic element ceases to be mere surface and becomes vertigo, a threshold toward an unexplored beyond. Where does this whirlpool lead: into the abyss, or into the light?
