The story behind
In this painting, the colors rise like the sails of an unreal vessel, ready to carry the soul toward unseen horizons. The flaming wings of red, violet, and gold seem to unfurl in the wind, evoking the initiatory journey of Bran Mac Febail, hero of Irish Celtic mythology. Enchanted by a bansidh, he leaves the world of the living to enter the Sidh, the mysterious realm of the Otherworld. The green background becomes the setting for this odyssey, recalling the legendary isles where reality and imagination intertwine. Here, the voyage is not merely geographical but spiritual: crossing boundaries, surrendering to the unknown, embracing rebirth in an elsewhere. Like a boat of foam with wings of fire, the canvas suggests that the afterlife is not an end but an opening. Are we not all, sooner or later, called to embark on our own journey toward the invisible?
