Quintessence (1456)

This painting seems to arise from the meeting of two breaths. One descends like a peaceful light, while the other rises from the depths with the quiet strength of a life that continually renews itself. Where they converge, a new harmony emerges. Deep violets weave through turquoise blues, bright greens open onto flashes of gold, and countless cells appear to bloom like invisible flowers. The shapes evoke, in turn, reefs bathed in crystalline waters, the filaments of vast nebulae, or the branches of a tree whose roots plunge all the way into the stars. The eye wanders freely without ever finding a boundary. Each detail leads to another, as if all of Creation were linked by a silent language we sense more than we understand. The Creator constantly invents harmonies that our intellect gradually uncovers, never fully reaching an end. This thought does not diminish our knowledge; instead, it fuels our joy to keep exploring. For it is beautiful to know that the world still holds so many wonders for us. What if the universe were not only vast but infinitely inspiring in creativity and beauty?
