The story behind

1In this painting, the light seems to come from behind the material, rising toward the top of the canvas in broad waves of yellow and orange, as if something is trying to cross an invisible horizon line. Opposite this spreading light, the blues dominate the space with an almost electric intensity. Yet, they don’t clearly depict either sky or water. Instead, they create a deep space in which the other colors are embedded. At the center, reds, blues, and golds clash in thick, sinuous shapes. The material gathers, folds, and rises there, forming an irregular boundary between two very different zones. Some red forms appear to emerge from this line, like fleeting silhouettes glimpsed by the eye then lost again. Around them, small splatters lend the scene a unique vibration. Nothing is frozen, even in the densest areas. The deep blue descends downward, where violets, whites, and golds create a heavier texture, almost like rock. Conversely, the top of the canvas seems to lighten, as if trying to dissolve into the light and merge with the surrounding white space. There, in this central area where all the colors blend, something lingers in suspension, like the moment just before the landscape takes shape.
