Quintessence (97)

This canvas opens like a luminous fracture at the heart of darkness. At the top, a turquoise river winds its way, bursting into clear droplets like nascent stars or liquid crystals. Below, glowing matter spreads like a pulsing, vibrant sea of lava, where whites gleam like burning embers. Between these two worlds—the celestial water and the earthly fire—a shifting boundary unfolds, a frontier of alchemy and encounter. Deep blacks envelop the whole, a reminder that all light is born from the darkness that sustains it. The colours oppose and answer each other, composing a fresco of powerful contrasts: cold and warmth, eruption and repose, life and dissolution. Here, creation appears as an unending dialogue, a breathing of the universe with neither beginning nor end.
