There are moments when moving forward no longer means seeking a favorable wind. You simply have to dare to step into the wave. In this painting, everything seems to converge toward a single point of tension. Shapes emerge, intersect, and burst forth in a profusion of reds, oranges, and turquoise. Long white lines streak across the space like spray, gusts, or shards of a sea that suddenly refuses all calm. The composition feels captured at the exact moment something is tipping over. On the left, a light form resembles a sail stretched toward the unknown. Opposite it, the material coils, lifts, and almost unfolds like a massive wave. Yet, far from merely suggesting danger, this confrontation radiates an extraordinary vitality. Because some storms don’t come to stop us. They come to reveal us. The sea then becomes a force that strips the traveler of their certainties. When the wind rises, carefully planned routes become largely useless. All that remains is instinct, courage, and that strange human ability to find within ourselves resources we never knew we had. The fiery colors erupting at the center could represent a struggle, but also a birth. Perhaps something is breaking. Something else is beginning. This painting evokes those moments in life when a trial becomes a threshold: impossible to know exactly what awaits us on the other side, but equally impossible to remain who we were before crossing it.
