In this painting, the sea no longer seems to merely carry the journey. It appears to determine its course. The forces all converge toward a single point, as if the artwork has captured the exact moment where multiple currents, winds, and wills come together. Everything moves toward the center. On the left, the greens and turquoises advance like a deep mass of water. From above, incandescent reds and oranges cascade down. To the right, an almost white light opens up the space, while at the heart of the composition, the textures twist, clash, and transform. Amid this collision of forces remains a powerful energy. The colors do not cancel each other out when they meet; instead, they create something new. Red passes through turquoise. Gold emerges between dark masses. White opens a breach.
