The story behind
My painting, "The Lost Island", immerses the viewer in the timelessness of a floating island - an emblem of the lost Atlantis, Plato’s mythical civilization. Adrift and untethered, the island appears suspended in the vastness of a turquoise sea, evoking eternity, a profound and immutable silence. This maritime landscape symbolizes not only the grandeur of Atlantis but also the notion that certain truths, however beautiful, are lost to time, carried away by the tides of history.
Fragile and solitary, the island drifts between the world of the living and the unseen, suggesting a connection to ancient civilizations and forgotten knowledge. The turquoise sea, soft yet infinite, embodies eternity - an ocean of ancient wisdom and endless mysteries. It becomes a mirror of our own quest for meaning and truth, a space where the past and the invisible intertwine, just as the mythicized Atlantis remains both real and intangible.
"The Lost Island" is an invitation to explore what has been lost and to reflect on the invisible legacies we carry within us, suspended in the great flow of time. It is a work of introspection and reverie, an homage to that which withstands the erosion of time and the infinite sea of eternity.
