Quintessence (1083)

A river of light appears to surge from the centre of this canvas, an ardent flow cutting through the sky. Incandescent red mingles with gold and orange, unfurling the warmth of creative lava, whilst blue stretches out like a calming sea, a cool counterpoint to the blaze. At the boundary between them, whirlpools form, giving the impression of water and fire meeting in an eternal dance. One might glimpse a landscape in metamorphosis: a molten cliff, an ocean set aflame, or perhaps the very heart of the Earth breathing. Pearly whiteness, woven throughout, softens the whole and evokes the notion of a divine breath passing through matter. Is this not, after all, an invitation to contemplate the power of opposites united in the genesis of life?
