The story behind

There are lights that seem to have travelled from the beginning of the world to reach us. In this painting, they do not merely illuminate space: they pass through it, set it ablaze and transfigure it. Celestial blues encounter almost unreal greens, while gold, orange and pink dissolve into a luminous substance that appears to be still in the process of being born. At the heart of this effervescence, a brighter radiance draws the eye. It could be a star, an opening, a beginning. Or perhaps simply that elusive moment when the invisible allows itself to be glimpsed. For perhaps eternity never reveals itself in its entirety. It reaches us in fragments: in the light of a star that vanished thousands of years ago, in the fleeting beauty of a sky, in a childhood memory that remains untouched although so many years have passed. Sometimes a few seconds are enough to experience something that seems to belong to no time at all. The colours themselves appear suspended here between emergence and disappearance. They merge without true boundaries, as though matter were seeking to join what lies beyond it. The stars punctuate this shifting space like tiny landmarks, insignificant on the scale of the cosmos, yet essential to our gaze. Perhaps we are like them. Tiny presences within an immensity that preceded us and will outlive us, yet capable, during the brief moment granted to us, of contemplating infinity and being profoundly moved by it. This painting might therefore be just that: not a representation of what lasts forever, but the luminous trace of those moments when, suddenly, we feel that we are part of it.
