The story behind
Since the dawn of time, man has lifted his eyes to the sky. There he has seen wings, flames, chariots of fire… and he has dreamed of tearing himself from the earth. This painting echoes that dream with vibrant force: a burst of light erupting from darkness, a surge of fire cleaving the night, like the soul daring to transcend its condition. Icarus, fragile and audacious, does not fall here: he rises. For his dream, stronger than his fall, continues to burn in the memory of humankind. One discerns fiery filaments, blazing clouds, flashes of azure where the heavens open, as though human longing itself became cosmic. The dream of Icarus is not pride: it is the invincible call of the spirit toward what surpasses it. This canvas tells of our thirst for infinity, our nostalgia for a lost sky, our courage for the impossible. And if the wings consume, if the fall must come, the fire endures, passed from generation to generation like a glowing ember in the dark. This painting tells that the destiny of Icarus, far from being an end, is the beginning of all our flights—and that to dream is already to fly.
