Quintessence (1088)

In this painting, matter appears to be in fusion, churned by an inner fire that spreads through bursts of orange and red. Across these incandescent lands, rivers of blue arise—celestial streams soothing the burn. Golds unfurl in luminous flashes, binding the whole in an uncertain alchemy where water and fire clash without ever being extinguished. Each bubble is a spark, each drip a metamorphosis, as though the canvas resonated with the echo of an ongoing creation. The viewer is drawn in by this breath, by this primordial fluidity in which the elements seek, collide with, and recognise one another. Thus is born an impression of genesis—both fragile and powerful—as if one were witnessing the cosmos inventing its very first forms.
