Quintessence (1189)

In this painting, everything appears to float as if within the primordial waters of creation. Rounded forms—brown, beige and turquoise—resemble cells suspended in anticipation, poised to divide and multiply. At the centre, a vivid red heart pulses, like a vital nucleus around which matter organises itself. The blues diffuse a sense of infinity, as though we are immersed in a boundless ocean, silent witness to life's earliest stirrings. The whole conjures both microscope and telescope: the minuscule and the immense are united in the same creative dance. Perhaps this is the great mystery—to remind us that every life, however humble, carries within it the echo of the entire universe.
