The story behind
In this painting, colors coil like waves of light, blending azure, purple, and gold. The curved forms, at once sails and arcs, unfold in a spiraling motion, echoing the fluidity of the marine realms. The work evokes Thaumas, Greek deity of the “wonders of the sea", father of Iris, messenger of the gods and embodiment of the rainbow. Here, each burst of color becomes a trace of his lineage, a luminous imprint linking sea to sky. Deep blue suggests the abyss, while radiant tones draw bridges toward infinity, like Iris’s arc uniting worlds. The composition weaves together the immensity of the ocean and the subtlety of celestial phenomena, inscribing majesty and delicacy in a single motion. This canvas invites us to reflect: could every wonder of the visible world be nothing but the still-vibrant imprint of a divine origin?
