Introduction

"Art is the way to feel, love, and interpret the heartbeat of the universe."

These words by Roch Carrier resonate deeply within me and perfectly capture the creative impulse behind my "COSMOSIS" collection.

This series of paintings is an ode to the interconnectedness of stars, nebulae, and galaxies, as well as the way they mirror underwater worlds, where enigmatic coral reefs evoke inverted celestial landscapes. These two realms, though distinct, vibrate in unison, revealing a universal harmony.

Each painting reflects this resonance between the microcosm and the macrocosm: the filaments of nebulae resemble the delicate branches of coral, while aquatic undulations echo the vast galactic whirlpools. The artistic quest driving this collection seeks to capture the essence of these two worlds, united by their mystery and infinite beauty.

Through my collection "COSMOSIS", I aim not to replicate our understanding of the universe or the oceans but to convey the raw emotion, fascination, and reverence they inspire in me.

Each of my paintings serves as an open window to an imaginary universe where the splendor of multicolored nebulae and the immeasurable depth of space merge with the vitality of marine ecosystems and the chromatic richness of coral reefs. These landscapes, oscillating between sky and sea, embody the idea that the macrocosm of the universe and the microcosm of the oceans reflect the same creative energy.

Inspiration for the Collection

The idea for "COSMOSIS" was born from my awe of the sky and the oceans, the elemental forces of Air and Water. Since childhood, I’ve been captivated by how the harmony of stars finds its mirror in marine ecosystems: how constellations, despite their vast distances, seem to converse with the organic symmetry of coral reefs.

This parallel inspired me to explore, through this collection, the intimate connection between the elements of the universe and the depths of the seas.
In "COSMOSIS", galactic whirlpools converse with oceanic currents, and the shimmering light of stars finds its counterpart in the luminous reflections dancing over coral reefs.

Each canvas strives to capture this profound resonance, where light and color unite to evoke both celestial landscapes and aquatic depths.

Artistic Techniques: Acrylic Pouring on Canvas

To create my "COSMOSIS" collection, I chose the acrylic pouring technique, a process that perfectly embodies the dynamics of both the universe and the oceans. By pouring fluid paints onto the canvas and blowing on certain areas to mimic the wind or marine currents, I allow colors to intertwine and transform freely, echoing the unpredictable movements of water and cosmic flows.

The palettes, dominated by electric blues, midnight blues, and mysterious violets, reflect both the marine depths and the majesty of space. Vibrant touches of cadmium yellow and carmine red bring a warm vibrancy reminiscent of blazing corals and newborn stars. The emerging patterns - filaments, vortices, and ripples - recall nebulae as well as the organic forms of coral reefs.

Each painting becomes a creative journey where fluid movements symbolize the interconnectedness of cosmos and ocean. The magic lies in the delicate balance between spontaneity and intent, chaos and structure, mirroring the hidden order of these two realms.

Symbolism of the Collection: Between Microcosm and Macrocosm

My "COSMOSIS" collection pays tribute to the interconnection between the microcosm of the oceans and the macrocosm of the universe. Coral reefs, with their shimmering hues and intricate forms, echo the distant galaxies and luminous constellations. These two dimensions, though distinct, share a universal beauty and a harmony that transcends scale.

The vibrant hues in my work convey the shared vitality of stars and marine organisms, while the fluid forms evoke the perpetual transformation coursing through these worlds - whether it’s the birth of a star or the evolution of a reef. Each painting encapsulates this symbiosis, a profound metaphor for the creative energy that unites the infinitely small with the infinitely vast.
