The story behind
There are forces we believe to be opposed: love and death, light and shadow. Yet in infinity, they do not clash: they pass through one another, they transfigure each other. This painting bears that mystery. Fiery red flames rise, embracing the darkness with their brilliance. At first, one thinks to see the triumph of Thanatos, the call of nothingness, but already Eros (or rather Agape, for Agape is not the fragile love of bodies: it is the love that does not die, the divine impulse stronger than any separation) emerges, radiant, sovereign. This canvas tells us that death is a passage, that it does not extinguish but transforms, that it opens the threshold of eternity, and that what we carry with us, from life to life, is the one thing eternal: LOVE, whether in the form of Eros or Agape. In this painting, the clouds intermingle, shadows and gleams, red glows and abysses. And yet, at the heart of the tumult, a light persists, indomitable. It is the flame of LOVE, gentle yet invincible, that sets ablaze even the night of the grave. Thus, eternal love triumphs over Thanatos, over death, not through violence, but through persistence, resilience, and renunciation of the World. It endures, it waits, it uplifts. And whoever contemplates the canvas hears deep within this promise: “Nothing shall ever separate you from love, nor from those your heart cherishes: you shall love one another always, for as long as love endures… and love is eternal.”
