Quintessence (90)

In this painting, the Creative Breath bursts forth in a rain of colours, as if the universe were opening in blazing petals. Orange blazes in a solar stream, pink soars like a shard of primal flesh, and green emerges as buds of hope. Everything seems to spring forth, to spread, to propagate, as though the divine respiration had chosen to express itself in a thousand hues at once. There is a sense of spring’s lightness and of cosmic genesis’s power. Here, matter becomes dance; not yet fixed into forms, it pulses, vibrates, whirls in an outpouring of life. Each fleck of pigment becomes a note in an original melody, a fragment of air turned to colour. And what if the Breath, before it became order and structure, were first of all a festival, a celebration, and abundance?
