The story behind
The void is not nothingness; it is a promise. An infinite expanse where anything can be born, where all can vanish, then reappear, where possibility endlessly thrives. An icy blue opens onto a dark sea, a pearly gleam sweeps silently across it. The universe is not empty—it is waiting.
"Jeanne’s Promise" is a painting that seeks to capture the very essence of hope, of light and renewal, all symbolized by the burst of an explosion in the sky.
It evokes an individual in search of meaning, seeking answers among the stars to better fight for cherished ideals, for the values in which one believes, in a world where the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the tangible and the intangible, become blurred. The painting urges reflection on the inner strength that resides in each of us to believe in brighter days.
This painting is inspired by Norah Jones’s song “Lonestar”:
"Lonestar where are you out tonight ?
This feeling I'm trying to fight
It's dark and I think that I would give anything
For you to shine down on me !
How far you are I just don't know
The distance I'm willing to go
I pick up a stone that I cast to the sky
Hoping for some kind of sign."
Your comments on this work
