The story behind
In my painting "Sea-Mulation (169)" the balance between the sea and the horizon is challenged by a raging ocean, where waves merge with the sailboat.
This fusion between wave and vessel suggests that, at times, life makes it difficult to distinguish our own direction from the powerful forces that carry us forward. The painting serves as a reminder of the uncertainty of existence when we are adrift - without a clear purpose, without certainty in our trajectory.
Diagonal lines cut across the canvas, like feathers or oars, symbolizing the effort to find balance. They seek to calm the storm, to restore harmony amidst the apparent chaos. This work expresses the quest for equilibrium, for inner peace amid external turbulence.
"Sea-Mulation (169)" thus becomes a metaphor for the human soul—caught between opposing forces, yet determined to find its way. It is a reflection on the necessity of taking hold of the oars of our own existence, navigating through the waves despite the storms.
