Quintessence (1261)

This canvas opens upon a symphony of gentle and blazing hues, where luminous gold seems to diffuse like a source of energy at the heart of the composition. Emerald greens, deep blues and vapourous violets entwine, conjuring an atmosphere at once aquatic and celestial. Splashes of brilliant white recall bubbles of foam or fragments of stars. Each cell of paint, bursting into minute circles, appears to vibrate like a suspended particle of life. The whole evokes a universe in perpetual movement, poised between birth and dissolution. One imagines a coral reef illuminated by sunlight, or a nebula in full expansion, as though sea and cosmos were but two facets of the same element.
