The story behind

In this painting, blazing columns rise from azure waters, like the remnants or dreams of a sunken city. Atlantis, described by Plato in the Timaeus and the Critias, is more than a myth: it is a parable of humankind which, by rising too high, condemns itself to vanish beneath the waves. The shimmering colors evoke both lost magnificence and the eternal brilliance of a dream. For while the city may have disappeared, its myth continues to travel through time.
